If you cannot name the publisher, do not install
Download is a channel problem. Store listing, official web package, or a file from chat. Only the first two belong in a careful install. This desk will not host a binary.
Name the channel before the cable
A kraft sleeve on a desk is preparation. It is not a file. If a stranger sends an installer, you have already left the official channel.
Type the brand in the official store search. Compare the publisher string. If two listings exist, stop and use the official-website note.
Generic integrity checks
If an official page publishes a checksum, compare it with a local tool before you open the package. This desk has not verified a Hyperwin hash. Do not invent one.
If no checksum exists, that absence is information. It is not permission to skip the store.
Storage and updates
Leave room for an update. Do not freeze an old package because a tip-seller told you the old build is luckier. Luck talk is a strategy fail and a security fail.
